Where is Benidorm airport?
When flying to Spain’s Costa Blanca for a holiday in the popular Spanish resort of Benidorm, you have several airports to choose from. You may have wondered, ‘where is Benidorm airport’? However, you may be surprised to know that Benidorm does not have its own airport. The nearest airport to Benidorm is Alicante/Elche airport which is just 58 kilometres away. Public transport is very good and there is a regular bus service to Benidorm that takes you from Alicante airport to Benidorm in just 50 minutes.
Although there is no direct airport for benidorm, there are two other airports you can use to get to Benidorm are Valencia Airport and Murcia’s San Javier Airport. Both of these airports are a one and a half hour drive away from Benidorm and should only be considered when you cannot get a flight to Alicante or you find an airfare that is too good to miss.
Make sure you do your math, though, as even a cheap fare to Murcia might end up being more by the time you add in your transfer costs. Alicante is also much closer, so factor in how much your time is worth into the equation and whether or not you would rather be lying by the pool or waiting for a bus at Alicante Airport.
The one time when flying to Murcia could work to your advantage is if you are in a group, travelling as a family and are intending to rent a car. The same thing applies to Valencia Airport with a bus transfer taking anywhere from 2.5 to 3.5 hours.

Once you exit customs on the ground floor of the terminal you need to take the lift or escalator to the departures level and exit the terminal. When you are outside the terminal, the bus stop is to the right of the Costa Coffee at the far end of the terminal. It is the only bus stop at the airport and is easily recognised as such. From the bus stop, take the ALSA (part of National Express) nonstop express bus to the Estación de Autobus in central Benidorm. The bus departs the airport on the hour throughout the day and costs 9.65€ for a single ticket and 18.35€ for a return. You can purchase tickets online from the ALSA website, from a machine at the airport, or pay the driver in cash. If paying in cash try and have the correct amount or small bills as the driver may have limited change available.
